friday 7th decmeber 2012

Left Kaikoura at 9.50am, it was a lovely day yet again, it took less than 2 hours to drive down to Hanmer Springs, we checked into the Tussock peak motor lodge.
It started to rain, we went too the hot pools at Hanmer Springs, it was great fun, it was still raining so it was good it cooled us down abit after we got into the hottest pool which was 40c it had beaches all round the side so you could sit down. It was great fun, we then walked round to the different pools which were different temperatures.

                                               Whos this Nigel?

thursday 6th december 2012

We went to Ohau Point to see a seal colony, which is 30kms north of Kaikoura.
Went back to Kaikoura for lunch at the Encounter.
Watched some whales from the car park by the railway station.
Went to a lookout point overlooking Kaikoura bay there was some wonderful views overlooking Kaikoura when we got there it was cloudy but the sun came out it was glorious.

Went back to the town centre and went for a drink in a pub called the sonic, I had a cider which was a pint, I think it was happy hour and the small ones were the same price as the small ones so shy not get a big one.
Mum and dad went to look in the Billabong shop, dad wanted a new bag so he could put his clothes in it because we only fought one suitcase and it was full.
We then went to the Pier Hotel for tea, I had fish and chips mum and dad had lamb.

wednesday 5th december 2012

Woke up early for our jetstar flight to Christchurch, Kenny dropped us off at the airport, we checked the bags in then we went straight to the gate.
We got on the plane it took the plane about 1hr and 45mins to fly to to Christchurch.
When we landed in what very hot and sunny, we rung the car hire place up then we went to the "ace" car rental to pick the car up.
We went to Cheviot on the way for lunch, there were some magpies.
We set of north to Kaikoura, we stopped at Cathedral Cliffe, and Gore Bay. We got into Kaikora at about 5pm Then booked into the hotel in Kaikora, then we went to the whaler for steak and chips, then had a drink.
We then went to the see the seals at the beach there wasnt many to see there were only 4. We watched the sun go down whilst watching the seals.
The sun disappeared behind the mountains that had snow on them which was strange because it was sunny and warm where we were.

this is the cathedral gully as you can see.

We arrived in Kaikora at about 5pm
